In Queensland, to cancel your vehicle’s registration you are required to complete a cancellation of registration form.

You will then be required to take your form and your cars number plates to a transport and motoring customer service center or a local police station that provides vehicle registration services. New South Wales

If you are the registered owner of a car in New South Wales, you can cancel your registration at any time. You will need to head to a registry or service center and provide a completed and signed Number plates and/or cancellation of registration form, along with the following:

• The certificate of registration for the vehicle (if available)
• The number plates
• Payment for cancellation fee
